ok, yeah: this makes some sense (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] arktos62!)...

bix's dewey decimal section:

002 the book

class:
000 computer science, information & general works

contains:
encyclopedias, magazines, journals and books with quotations.

what it says about you:
you are very informative and up to date. you're working on living in the here and now, not the past. you go through a lot of changes. when you make a decision you can be very sure of yourself, maybe even stubborn, but your friends appreciate your honesty and resolve.

find your dewey decimal section at spacefem.com

I think that I will need to learn more about the dewey decimal system. Beyond how to find books that is. That one I can do.

i suspect comp.sci. was grafted onto the 000 when it became clear this wasn't a passing fad. dewey should be appealing, given the relative ease with which dewey numbers can be created. interesting factoid: the dewey scheme is proprietary, and is owned by OCLC (http://www.oclc.org/us/en/dewey/).

What are you talking about? The interwebs will be out of style in a few months!

I did not know that! That is fun.

I may read more on this.

Is there an "open-source" version of sorts?

i know, i know. that's why i'm sticking with my radio shack trs80!

i don't know of an open source classification. one source might be in the works of SHIYALI RAMAMRITA RANGANATHAN (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S._R._Ranganathan).

YES!

Best computing reference EVER.

Reading now! I'm especially interested now. Maybe it's just cause I'm a linux/FSF junkie ... but I'd like to see the open-source initiative/concept expand beyond the software world... it's such a vivid community, with alot of growth.
