facebook fucks up again

so, now that facebook no longer allows a friends-page display of "recent updates," how can one engineer such a thing? using the home tab is useless, because i want updates, not elves, wall-postings and quizzes on what-new-jersey-town-are-you?. any help would be much appreciated.

facebook really seems to be modeling the very worst in customer service; perhaps they've taken the general motors course in world domination.

I am actively looking at possible solutions, in between cleaning up my place.

My thinking is that it will be engineered in the form of a greasemonkey script, which uses javascript.

It may also be possible to use the facebook api in some way to hash something together..

I'm afraid I only dip my toe into Facebook occasionally now. It seems to stress me in ways that LiveJournal calms me. But I wish you well in exploring its inner crevices. Incidentally, are you still at the same PO box number?

I use Facebook because too many of my friends rely on it for updates, but it annoys me. You can't navigate the posts you want to see without stepping in the virtual poo of stupid apps and memes, and the content is both shallow and fleetingly short-lived. It's marginally better than the huge mess that is Myspace, but it's quite irritating.
