no horrors here...

on wednesday, i managed to make it to the last of the harvard summer theatre's shows, little shop of horrors. i was joined for the evening by friends todd/toddpage, ian/i_f_f and grant. the show was staged in the experimental theatre of the loeb drama center, and was great fun. there were a couple of over-the-top moments and a couple of really nice performances. the company was splendid and the evening a true delight. i made a few images inside the theater (using existing light) which only look right in black-and-white. on foot...

on wednesday, i walked in to work, mostly because i wanted to get a couple of shots off of the side of the restaurant currently known as cambridge common. a construction site next door has revealed a previous incarnation of the space, and its signage. since a building will soon rise to again mask the sign, i wanted to document its existence. i also shot a couple of other places which appealed to me, including the huge construction site for the new north entrance to harvard law school, and the constable view from the mostly secret dudley garden (it's the last shot, and arguably one of two which don't belong in this set).

these images all beg to be seen from the less-distracting, more honest perspective of black-and-white grayscale. and so they are.
